Where old news gets a new life
In 2016, I had a book about the history of Campustown published. In the researching process, I went through the Daily‘s archive page by page for its first four decades. In college, I worked at the Daily for more than four years, so I already had an interest in the organization’s history. The archive, which is ~95% complete, is only available at Parks Library in microfilm form. The cataloging and mining of the rich archive has been extremely limited.
On this site, you will predominately find illustrations and stories from the pages of the Iowa State Daily about life at Iowa State University and West Ames.
